Tokyoflash reveals Kisai Night Vision wristwatch, makes telling time fun again

Tokyoflash is on the loose once more, and this time it's introducing a concept that has been in the works for months on end. The Kisai Night Vision -- which was made official moments ago, first appeared on the company's blog as a mockup in August of 2010 -- and as they say, "what a difference a year makes." As of today, the LED wristwatch is up for grabs, constructed with black stainless steel, sub-surface LEDs, a hexagonal form factor and support for USB recharging. Despite your initial assumptions, it's actually capable of displaying both time and date, and there's even a built-in alarm with a "light-up animation." Fancy! It's available in black with blue, green or red LEDs, and if you order soon, you'll be able to snag one for $129 / £79 / €89; procrastinators will face a sticker of $149 / £91 / €103. Take a shufti in the gallery below.

Pastebin updated to V3, releases Windows app

pastebin
Pastebin is a very popular website aimed at coders and other nerdy types, which allows them (or should I say, us) to paste and share snippets of code with lovely syntax highlighting.

It has recently undergone a major overhaul which includes the release of a brand new Windows client. The new client lets you create new "pastes" and manage your existing ones. It joins a host of other tools from Pastebin, such as the Google and Chrome extensions, OS X widget and the mobile apps.

If you're currently using Pastebin, the new client is a great addition. And if you haven't tried it before, next time you have a piece of code you want to share or get some feedback on, you could do worse than try out Pastebin.

[Thanks, Jeroen!]

Are These Stone Speakers Really 20,000 Percent Greener than Other Speakers? [Speakers]

Throwing a figure like 20,000% around seems absurd. Rarely is anything we use in our normal lives 20,000% more/less/better/worse/whatever than a competing product. Yet, AudioMasons claim their stone speakers are 20,000% greener than other speakers. Seriously? More »

Fusion Garage Tablet Jumps on the Price-Slashing Trend

Everyone making a table that doesn’t run on iOS is getting serious about unseating Apple’ iPad from its lofty throne. More and more are deciding to sacrifice the bottom line for a bit of user adoption. The latest example is Fusion Garage, which is dropping the price of its Grid 10 tablet from $499 and $599 [...]

Volvo unveils Concept You luxury sedan, dripping with touchscreens (video)

The Frankfurt Motor Show is underway in Germany, where Volvo has just taken the wraps off the Concept You -- a new luxury sedan that features some pretty nifty, touch-based controls. Directly behind the car's steering wheel lies a monitor that digitally displays your basic driving information, including speed and a map of your trajectory. The wheel also features some sensor enhanced panels, which you can use to adjust your radio or cruise control settings. A touch interface on the center console, meanwhile, uses an infrared sensor to pick up on any hand or eye movements before activating to bring up the system's infotainment control mode, which boasts an unreleased FreshAir subwoofer from Alpine. From here, you can surf the web, swipe through radio stations, check for safety alerts or control your air conditioning, using only your fingers or customized gestures. Plus, there's an extra touchscreen placed between the two rear seats, meaning your kids won't be left out of the action, either. Cruise past the break for an exclusive video of the Concept You's so-called smart pad technology, along with the full PR.

Must See HDTV (September 12th - 18th)

Summer is coming to an end and that means the disappearance of the few remaining summer TV shows still hanging around on the schedule (LA Ink, we won't miss you). It also means the appears of a certain war movie that takes place in the stars on Blu-ray, and an opportunity for networks like NBC and CW to get some of their fall programming kicked off early. Of course, we're still all about football and Monday Night Football returns in earnest for the first time tonight with a doubleheader so while you know what we'll be watching then, check out our highlighted picks of the week here, followed after the break by our weekly listing of what to look out for in TV, Blu-ray and videogames.

Star Wars
While the rest of the world already got their taste, here in North America those looking to obtain legitimate HD copies of the series have to wait until Friday. Whether you're buying six or three movies, there will be plenty of extras to go along with them, although unfortunately word is there's been a few (more) changes made. You can have the movies of your childhood in 1080p and crisp surround sound, but you'll also have to take a quick NOOOO from Vader in Episode VI (clip after the break) -- is it worth it? Only you can decide.
($79.99 - Complete Saga, $39.99 - Original Trilogy / Prequel Trilogy on Amazon, September 16th)

Archer
The most hilarious animated series on television. The third season starts this week on FX and we'll be there to watch the exploits of drinking, womanizing, and not always clear on the details super spy Sterling Archer. Explaining the appeal is impossible and quite possibly illegal, so check season one out on Netflix streaming if you need any further convincing, but do it fast.
(Thursday, FX, 10:30PM)

63rd Emmy Awards
We prefer 40 Year Old Virgin and Party Down Jane Lynch to the current Glee-ified version, but we'll still tune in to see her host the Emmy Awards this weekend in an arena where big song and dance numbers should be right at home. Check the wiki to see which of your favorite shows are up for an award -- can we admit that we didn't watch HBO's Mildred Pierce, which leads all others in number of nominations with 21?
(Sunday, Fox, 8PM)

DirecTV brings NFL Sunday Ticket app to your Honeycomb Tablet

NFL Sunday Ticket

No doubt about it, Football is back in full swing. Last week the NFL released its official app for tablets and now DirecTV has gone ahead and launched its NFL Sunday Ticket app for Honeycomb tablets. With it, you can stream any NFL Sunday Ticket game in HD plus, you also have access to the Red Zone channel.

The app doesn't come without a few caveats though. You do have to have a NFL Sunday Ticket subscription through DirecTV in order to have access, and it's only Sunday games that are available. Sunday night, Monday, Thursday and Saturday NFL games are not part of Sunday Ticket and therefore not eligible for streaming. If you're a DirecTV subscriber and can make use of this app, you'll find the download link past the break.

Sprint launches Drive First Android app to curb texting and driving, keep chatty teens at bay

Are you concerned that your talky teenager is trying to keep up on the high school gossip whilst behind the wheel? Or are you a more experienced driver looking to get rid of the temptation to update your status at 65 MPH? Sprint's got you covered with Drive First. The app, announced by CEO Dan Hesse at CTIA in March, will lock up your phone when it detects you're in a moving vehicle; calls will be automatically redirected to voicemail and incoming texts can get automatically replied to with a customized message. The service costs $2 / month per phone after a 15-day trial, and unfortunately only is available for Android devices, though BlackBerry and Windows Phone support has been promised in the near future as well. We'd say the more the merrier -- for parents, that is. Head below for the full press release.
